Nearly two in three (64%) of people who make under $50,000 per year report moderate to extremely high stress after a scam incident.A sizeable minority, one in five, who were a victim of an online scam say they experienced financial strain.Following a scam incident, over half (54%) of people experience at least moderate anxiety or stress.Relatedly, people in that age group are more likely to have fallen victim to a scam (48%) – specifically entering their email and password on a site that they found out was a scam (22%). About half of people between the age of 50-64 are targeted once a week by a scam.Older Americans, those between 50 and 64, were more likely to be targeted by and fall victim to a scam.
